Dustin Sullivan
PE, CEA, Principal, Mechanical Engineer
Sullivan has more than 30 years of extensive experience serving clients, leading projects, and designing mechanical systems. He has personally designed more than 400 school projects, as well as mechanical systems for hospitals, medical clinics, hotels, fire stations, retail spaces, restaurants, commissaries, offices, casinos, jails, hotels, libraries, animal shelters, hot springs, natatoriums, residences, courts, parks, and more. He provides expert integration for all aspects of our projects, while leading the firm as president. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering, with a mechanical emphasis at the University of Wyoming. He is licensed and registered in all four corner states: Colorado PE #34677, New Mexico PE #15055, Utah PE #5752233-2202, Arizona PE #39302. Sullivan is also a AEE Certified Energy Auditor, certification #2900.
Nate Brush
Principal, BIM Manager, and Special Systems Designer
Brush brings more than 15 years of experience in the MEP industry to our clients and firm. With a background in mechanical, electrical, and special systems design, Brush serves as ME&E’s BIM manager, integrating the work of all disciplines. As a board member and Vice President, Brush helps lead internal operations and client services. His in-depth knowledge of special systems (fire alarm, data, access control, etc.) complements the team’s MEP design expertise. Brush earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Fort Lewis College and pursued additional education at the graduate level at Western State Colorado University.
Nana Naisbitt
Principal, Technical Writer and Business Operations Manager
Naisbitt is an expert in translating complex science and engineering concepts into clearly written English prose. She has published science and technology articles in Time Magazine, Fast Company, and American Scholar, and co-authored High Tech High Touch, published by Broadway Books. At ME&E, she serves as the principal writer on all reports and proposals. Naisbitt also brings decades of business management and marketing experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors to ME&E. As board member, she contributes to strategic planning and communications. She earned a B.A. with Honors from the University of Chicago.
Sean Brophy
PE, LEED AP, Electrical Engineer
Brophy brings expertise and in-depth knowledge to ME&E and our clients. Practicing since 2007, he has worked at large Denver-based firms before moving to Durango in 2019. His past experience dovetails with the types of projects that ME&E has historically designed — educational, commercial, hospitality, light industry, and governmental facilities. Brophy earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with an electrical specialty from Colorado School of Mines. A LEED Accredited Professional, he is licensed and registered in Colorado (PE #50052), New Mexico (PE #26141), and Arizona (PE#80922).
Joey Brenner
PE, CEA, Mechanical Engineer
Brenner joined the ME&E Engineering design team in January 2020. At ME&E, Brenner serves as an integral part of our mechanical engineering team designing schools, governmental buildings, and commercial facilities. He earned his Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Engineering, Cum Laude, from Fort Lewis College. After graduating in 2015, he honed his design skills at a Vail, Colorado, mechanical engineering firm specializing in luxury residences. He is licensed and registered in all four corner states: Colorado PE #59843, New Mexico PE #28564, Utah PE #13676018-2202, and Arizona PE #80017. Brenner is also a AEE Certified Energy Auditor, certification #2910.
Stephen Haysley
Mechanical Engineer in Training
Haysley earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Montana State University in 2024 and joined ME&E in 2025. After graduating, he gained experience in fire protection engineering at a large firm by designing fire sprinkler systems for schools, hospitals, nursing homes, detention centers, residential buildings, and more. At ME&E, Haysley focuses on mechanical design, applying his technical skills to create efficient, safe, comfortable, and code-compliant building systems. He holds his Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification and is actively pursuing his Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado.
Paul Grebenyuk
Electrical Engineer in Training
Grebenyuk joined the ME&E Engineering design team in 2025. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, where he developed expertise in electrical systems design. His diverse work experiences have strengthened his problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, preparing him well for ME&E’s varied project portfolio. As an EIT, Grebenyuk is focused on developing his skills in electrical and special systems design while serving ME&E clients. He is pursuing his Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado.
Ava Ream
Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Intern
Ava Ream entered Fort Lewis College in the fall of 2023 as an engineering major and began her internship at ME&E during her freshman year. At ME&E, she works with both the electrical and mechanical teams to support projects in any way needed. At FLC, Ream was invited to serve as a researcher for Dr. Mathew Klema, Assistant Professor of Physics and Engineering, aiming to build a computational fluid dynamic model of a lung-on-a-chip (LOAC). Through the FLC Village Aid Project, Ream helped install solar panels on the Navajo Nation in 2024. With the same organization, she served as a translator and as a member of the surveying team installing distribution lines on a fresh water system in the Jalapa region of Nicaragua in 2024.
